Kariobangi Legends Wazee thrashed Karura Forest Service (KFS) Legends 2-0 in a memorial match for the late Stephen Mukaisi (Babu Campos) former Kariobangi Sports goalkeeper played at Kariobangi Primary, Nairobi, on Sunday, August 24, 2025. It was a sweet victory for Kariobangi considering that it had lost four consecutive matches.
The players of the both teams started the match looking for early goals. Kariobangi under captain Eric Otieno Atanga was on the verge of revenge for losing the recent matches. In the last match Kariobangi Legends Wazee was defeated 3-1 by Classic X1 at the Kfeet Stadium, Karura Forest, Nairobi on Sunday, August 10, 2025.
Kariobangi was at home and used the opportunity to put on an impressive performance. In the first half, Vincent ‘Boi’ Opondo scored the first goal for Kariobangi and gave his teammates the motivation to work harder. Both sides continued to hunt for more goals but in the second half, Vincent scored Kariobangi’s second goal and showed that they were ready to shut down their opponents. “The match was good because my teammates did not relax on the field and in the end we got a sweet victory,” said the captain, adding that they will arrange a return match soon.
KFS manager Ezra Manyara said the match was good but they are not used to playing on a clay pitch. “We are used to a grass pitch and we could not show our game properly but we are looking forward to push harder in return match agaisnt our opponet,” he said. Kariobangi Legends Wazee had lost other three matches, being beaten 4-3 by Mathare Combined FC, lost 2-1 to Deft Touch FC also was thrashed 3-1 by Green Berets Legends.
Before those defeats, Kariobangi Legends Wazee had won many matches. Some of those results were, Kariobangi beat Lucky Summer Legends 5-1, defeated Mathare 4A Legends 6-1, then won 6-2 against Pumwani Legends. Green Berets Legends has been doing well in their friendly matches. Some of their results are: Green Berets Legends 3-1 Kasarani Legends, defeated Domans Legends 2-1, beat Clients Legends 4-1, defeated Pace Setters Legends 4-2. It also defeated Orland Legends 2-1 and won 3-1 against Headquarters FC.
