By Our Reporter Monday, August 18, 2025 SIX teams played thrilling opening matches of the women’s (mothers) football Petit Cup Tuornament at the Sansiro Stadium, Highrise Majengo Nairobi on Sunday, August 17, 2025. In Group A matches, Majengo Pamoja drew goalless with ODM Women Pumwani. 
In Group B, Vegas Women and Blue Estate registered one point each after drawing 0-0 while Shaurimoyo Legends and Fearless Moms also drew 0-0. “My players displayed a good game but struggled to score because many of them were playing for the first time,” said Fearless coach Jonah Makau. He added that they would have to work harder in the upcoming matches to advance in the competition. Shaurimoyo Legends coach Cleopa Okutoyi said the matches have made mothers to wake up in Pumwani ward.
“The move to involve mothers in this year’s campaign gives them a good opportunity to shine,” he said. The tournament continues with matches for the under-11, 13 and 15 categories. The under-15 matches are heading to the quarter-finals to be played on Thursday, August 21, 2025. On the schedule, Digo 44 shall face Fabanache while YACH 009 shall tackle Highrise Kids. Borussia will be playing against Shaurimoyo United while Pumwani FFT will compete against Muthurwa Junior.
In under-13 quarter-finals, Tigers Shaurimoyo will face Pumwani Riyadha FFT, Majengo All Stars are scheduled to play Shaurimoyo Junior, Jua Kali Junior will face Highrise Stars, and the Soccer Stars youngsters shall square it out with FC Lion King. In the under-11 category, they are heading to the semi-finals where Mashimoni Kids will face YACH 009 and Kipawa Academy will meet Pumwani FFT.
